NEW AMERICAN PATHWAYS

Baking for Backpacks -- GOAL: $4,000 to help get refugee youth ready for back-to-school

UPDATE AS OF 12/1/21: WITH YOUR HELP, WE DID IT, BUT WE ARE STILL RAISING FUNDS BEYOND OUR 4K GOAL! 750 KIDS HAVE BEEN SERVED, SURPASSING OUR GOAL OF 240!!!! WE ARE UP TO $15K IN GOODS AND SERVICES, AND NEW AMERICAN PATHWAYS IS EXPECTING MANY MORE AFGHAN AND OTHER REFUGEES IN THE COMING WEEKS, WITH KIDS WHO WILL BE HEADED TO SCHOOL (SOME FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER!!!) SEE BELOW FOR MORE INFORMATION

Refugee youth face challenges to success including education gaps, language barriers, and limited supplemental academic support, but when they are supported by social structures and targeted assistance, they make rapid progress in their education and thrive as members of their community. Our current mission is to help get 180 refugee children in Atlanta a proper backpack and supplies as they return to IN-PERSON (Yay!) learning this Fall!!! New American Pathways, one of our favorite non-profits, is looking for our help.

How it works: Our goal is to raise $4,000 to purchase the backpacks themselves and fill them with binders, pens, pencils, rulers, glue sticks, crayons, folders, etc. so we can get them off to a good start when they return to in-person learning.

We have a four-part plan:

1. A Venmo effort to try to raise cash for backpacks and supplies. Please visit our Venmo: https://venmo.com/u/backpacktoschool2021

2. Bake sales to try to raise more cash. For this, we will try to put the cooking skills we learned during our time on Chopped Junior (Lily) and MasterChef Junior (Evie) a few years back to good use

3. This one is a big maybe, but we planted a HUGE garden with our Dad, and we are going to try to sell the veggies at our local farmers market if the agricultural fairies are good to us

4. Finally, we will host giant backpack stuffing parties for our friends and charge admission in the form of school supplies. We will cook for them of course

We are so grateful that you are here and would appreciate anything you can give.

xoxoxo,
Lily and Evie

BAKE BACK BETTER GEORGIA

Turn Georgia Blue -- one cupcake at a time

UPDATE: WE DID IT! WE FLIPPED THE SENATE! $30,000+ RAISED AND COUNTLESS CUPCAKES BAKED!!!  OUR THANK YOU VIDEO IS HERE

Hello! We are sisters from Atlanta who cannot yet vote, but we can definitely bake. We have honed our skills on MasterChef Junior and Chopped Junior a few years back (and by cooking for our family and friends). We want to use our skills to help elect Jon Ossoff (who went to our school!!) and the Reverend Raphael Warnock. Donate to either campaign or both, and you will be rewarded with delicious cupcakes. We hope you will donate weekly until the runoff election on January 5.

How it works: click the button below to donate to either or both campaigns. As a thank you, cupcakes will be left on your doorstep a few days later. You can gift them to a frontline worker if you prefer.
